烟台国际博览中心是受烟台市委、市政府委托，由南山集团开发建设并经营管理的。2005年12月10日破土动工，2006年9月26日建成并投入使用。历时9个多月的时间建设完成。总占地面积26.7公顷，总建筑面积为15.8万㎡，其中：
室外广场：
室外广场面积6万平方米，有大型景观雕塑及水系，设计简洁大方。
室内展馆：
展馆面积 59360㎡，可容纳3800个标准展位。
其中
1、登录大厅：11360㎡。
2、室内展馆有6个，分为2层，展馆面积6200㎡/个，
总面积为37200㎡。（一层净高11米，地面承重5t/㎡，
二层净高10米，地面承重1.5t/㎡。）
3、常年展示厅6个，面积为1800㎡/个，
总使用面积为10800㎡。馆内各类现代化设施配套齐全，
展馆北侧有18米宽的货运平台，车辆可从环形通道直接进入。
会议中心：
会议中心共有会议室14个，贵宾室5个。其中世纪厅1500人（有进口6+1同声传译、红外线接收及自动表决系统）、论坛厅300人、新闻发布厅100人、160人会议室11个、可承接各类会议、学术论坛、商业洽谈和文艺演出等活动。
烟台国际博览中心位于莱山区体育公园东侧，是山东省内规模**大、档次**高的会展场馆。
其设计风格和建设水平居世界领先地位，主要用于承办各类大型展览活动、学术研讨活动和承办各类会议、项目推介、兼顾宴会、文艺演出等活动。
